For TSATU, participation in international projects is a means of sharing expertise and advancing the University through the modernization of education and research, development of new infrastructure, professional growth of faculty and staff, piloting of innovative solutions, expansion of international partnerships, and development of solutions for the recovery of the University and the region in alignment with European values. We view project-based activities as a space for collaborative work where the University’s expertise is combined with the experience of international partners and ideas are transformed into tangible outcomes – new educational solutions, modern laboratories and digital resources, research initiatives, professional development programs, methodologies, partnership networks, and sustainable institutional practices.

Project experience as a foundation for strategic change

Project-based activities at TSATU are strategic in their nature. They directly support the priorities of the TSATU Development Strategy for 2023–2030, including the development of international partnerships and the internationalization of educational and research activities, focusing research on the recovery and development of the region and Ukraine, digital transformation, staff development, modernization of the University’s infrastructure and facilities, and diversification of University resources. Under the TSATU Internationalization Strategy for 2026–2030, international projects are one of the key mechanisms for achieving the University’s strategic goals. Through international projects, the University develops international research cooperation and innovation, digital and virtual internationalization, partnership networks, institutional capacity, human capital, sustainable development, and its contribution to the recovery of the frontline region. For this reason, we seek not one-time participation in individual calls for proposals, but the consistent development of a project portfolio in which each new initiative strengthens the University’s capacity and creates a foundation for future partnerships.

TSATU teams have experience working on projects of different scales, thematic areas, and formats. Completed and ongoing University initiatives cover digital transformation and the digitalization of education, engineering education, agricultural and food systems, economics and sustainable development, adaptive and inclusive education, faculty professional development, institutional resilience, and the modernization of the University environment. This experience is important to us not simply as a list of completed activities. Each project leaves the University with new capacity: a team, methodology, partnership, equipment, educational product, management solution, or practice that can be further developed and built upon.

TSATU expertise for international consortia

A key strength of TSATU is the combination of subject-matter and institutional expertise. The University brings together specialists in agriculture, engineering, energy, environmental studies, economics, management, food technology, and digital technologies, as well as teams working in educational development, professional training, internationalization, and institutional transformation.

This enables us to build interdisciplinary project teams and work across a broad range of areas:

  • sustainable development of the agricultural sector and food systems;
  • agrotechnologies, engineering, energy, and advanced production solutions;
  • digital transformation, digital learning environments, and technology;
  • environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, and circular approaches;
  • economics, entrepreneurship, management, and community development;
  • modernization of academic programs, innovative teaching methods, and quality assurance;

In international projects, TSATU serves as a responsible partner and actively contributes to the substantive development and practical implementation of project solutions. Depending on the project’s objectives, our teams can contribute at every stage of proposal development and project implementation, including:

  • needs assessment and concept development;
  • development of methodologies, educational components, and learning materials;
  • conducting research;
  • development and piloting of digital and engineering solutions;
  • organization of pilot activities;
  • staff training and professional development;
  • engagement with students and external stakeholders;
  • communication, dissemination of results, and sustainability of project outcomes.

We believe that project outcomes should continue to create value after funding ends. Therefore, we focus on integrating project results into actual academic programs, research processes, infrastructure, internal policies, and the University’s day-to-day practices.

TSATU is open to new initiatives

  • TSATU is a relocated university that continues to operate and develop in a frontline region. This experience has built not only resilience but also distinctive practical expertise: the ability to maintain continuity of education and research under conditions of high uncertainty, rapidly adapt processes, work with digital formats, restore infrastructure, and transform crisis-related challenges into development priorities. At the same time, we do not define our project identity solely through the experience of war.
  • TSATU is a multidisciplinary academic community with deep sector-specific expertise and a commitment to developing solutions that matter to the European and global agendas, including sustainable food systems, green and digital transformation, technological modernization, quality of education, human capital development, inclusion, and recovery and reconstruction.
  • TSATU is interested in developing partnerships within Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, and other European and international programs in education, research, innovation, development assistance, and recovery and reconstruction. We value partnerships in which every organization has a meaningful role, and collaboration is built on professionalism, openness, responsibility, and mutual trust. Our team of experts is open to joining new consortia, co-developing project ideas, identifying complementary expertise, and developing initiatives in which TSATU’s experience can create tangible value for the partnership.
