Within the implementation of the international innovation and education project HEI-TRAIN, funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a working visit was held by the project team from Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University (TSATU) to one of the project’s key business partners — Baltic Beach Hotel & SPA (Jūrmala, Latvia), operated by BBH Investments SIA.

During the visit, the TSATU delegation, led by project coordinator Professor Dariia Legeza, met with Anete Krastiņa, Head of Marketing at BBH Investments and the person responsible for cooperation within the HEI-TRAIN project. The meeting focused on reviewing the current status of project activities, discussing the role of business partners in developing practice-oriented learning modules, and exploring opportunities to engage the hospitality and wellness sector in innovative educational and training solutions.

The participants discussed approaches to integrating real-world digitalization cases from the hospitality industry into academic curricula, fostering entrepreneurial and innovation competencies among higher-education students, and outlining prospects for further university–business cooperation within European initiatives. Particular emphasis was placed on the transfer of practical experience, modern learning processes, and the implementation of advanced digital solutions in the service and hospitality sectors.

The working visit to Baltic Beach Hotel & SPA marked an important step in strengthening the partnership between TSATU and BBH Investments SIA, reaffirming both parties’ commitment to jointly developing an innovative higher-education ecosystem and enhancing the quality of specialist training in line with the needs of the modern labor market.
