Together with the university biography, the Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Ecology writes its own history. It was established according to the decision of the University Senate and the order of the TSATU No. 2 OD dated August 3, 2007. The Dean was appointed as Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Oleksandr Petrovich Lomeiko.

Before the establishment of the Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Ecology, the training of specialists in these fields was conducted at the Faculty of Processing and Storage of Agricultural Products, which until 2007 was headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Fedir Yukhymovych Yalpachik.

Since 2011, the faculty has been headed by Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Anatoliivna Ivanchenko.

The faculty consisted of seven departments: Plant Science (head – Professor, Dr. Sci. (Agr.) Vitaliy V. Kalytka), Chemistry and Biotechnology (head – Candidate of Sci. (Agr.), Associate Professor Mykola O. Kolesnikov), Department of Occupational Safety and Life Safety (head – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Yuriy P. Rohach), Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection (head – Professor, Dr. Biol. Sci. Anatoliy M. Volokh), Department of Philosophy and Sociology (head – Candidate of Philos. Zahorko), and the Department of Foreign Languages (Acting Head – Candidate of Philol. Sci., Associate Professor Yulia O. Polykarpova).

In 2012, the faculty conducted its first enrollment of students in the field of “Occupational Safety”. The necessity of this specialty was driven by the requirements of the Ukrainian Law “On Occupational Safety” and the increasing level of industrial injuries, professional illnesses, and technological accidents in production. In 2013, the first enrollment of students in the field of “Food Technology and Engineering” was conducted.

Since 2014, the Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Ecology has been appointed as Candidate of Sci. (Agr.), Associate Professor Iryna Yevhenivna Ivanova. In 2015, the composition of the faculty was changed, and it began to include five departments: Plant Science (head – Candidate of Sci. (Agr.), Associate Professor Liudmyla V. Todorova), Chemistry and Biotechnology (head – Candidate of Sci. (Agr.), Associate Professor Mykola O. Kolesnikov), Department of Occupational Safety and Life Safety (head – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Yuriy P. Rohach), Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection (head – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ihor O. Khaliman), and the Department of Agricultural Product Processing and Storage Technology (head – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Natalia P. Zahorko).

Today, the faculty is one of the centers of higher agronomic education in the southeastern region of Ukraine. Its graduates are over 500 highly qualified specialists who have become scientific and pedagogical workers, qualified associate professors, skilled managers, organizers, and professionals in agricultural production, as well as managers of various state and private structures. The faculty trains specialists in four fields of study: “Agronomy”, “Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Balanced Nature Management”, “Occupational Safety”, and “Food Technology and Engineering”, with degrees of Bachelor, Specialist, and Master.

But wherever and in whatever position our graduates work, they continue the glorious history of our university and their faculty, deeply patriotic, nationally conscious, and statesmanlike in both spirit and substance.

We have reasons to be proud of our history, to look up to, and to learn from. That’s why we scrutinize each newcomer so closely and diligently every year, as they join the ranks of the student family.
