Every year, the staff of the Department of Foreign Languages strive to enhance the range of educational materials, according to which English, German, French and Latin languages are taught, with their own methodical developments. Taking into account the lack of modern Ukrainian textbooks and coursebooks on foreign languages for universities, the teachers of the Department create highly professional, informative and captivating teaching aids and manuals for students, both for the classroom and for independent work. Among the works of the team, there are manuals aiming at the enhancement of reading and speaking skills, the development of listening skills, on independent reading – for each speciality in a general, professional, and business foreign language. All manuals are compiled on the basis of authentic texts and supplemented with didactic materials (including audio and video), contain a large number of exercises taking into account the latest teaching methods, are equipped with detailed translation or explanatory dictionaries, as well as glossaries.
One of the types of manuals popular among students is a workbook, in which teachers, taking into account the wishes of students, apply a wide range of challenging tasks and exercises based on audio materials and graphic information. One of the types of manuals most in demand by senior year students are professional vocabulary dictionaries aimed at expanding the vocabulary of future specialists and scientists.
