History of the Department of Processing and Food Production Equipment named after Professor F.Yu. Yalpachyk began with the creation of the Department of Mechanization of Agricultural Production Processing on July 1, 1993.

The first head of the Department of Mechanization of Agricultural Production was appointed Associate Professor, Ph.D. Shcherbyna Ivan Andriyovych. At the origins of the creation of the department were such teachers as Associate Professor, Ph.D. Mykytynets Z.G., Associate Professor, Ph.D., Parkhomenko V.D., Associate Professor, Ph.D. Serdyuk M.E. The newly created department was allocated several classrooms on the basis of the Department of Mechanization of Animal Husbandry. A very difficult but exciting time of the formation of the Department of Mechanization of Agricultural Production began.
In a short period of time, all the necessary curricula and educational and methodological literature were developed for teaching students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in the specialization “Mechanization of Agricultural Product Processing”.

In 1995, the department was reorganized in connection with the expansion of its teaching staff and the provision of new premises on the 3rd floor of building No. 8. In the same year, Ph.D., associate professor Gvozdev O.V. and Ph.D., associate professor Petrychenko S.V. were admitted to the department. In 1998, Ph.D., professor Yalpachik F.Yu. was appointed to the position of head of the department of mechanization of agricultural products processing. In 2003, in connection with the opening of a new specialty, the department “Mechanization of Agricultural Production Processing” was renamed the department “Equipment for Processing and Food Production”.

During 2009-2014, the composition of the Department did not change significantly. The Department included Boyko T.Yu.-assistant (third from the right in the first row), and Chervotkina O.O.-training master (second from the right in the first row), Budenko S.F.-PhD, associate professor (third from the left in the second row).

From On April 26, 2017, by order of the Rector of the University No. 48-OD, for the significant contribution of Yalpachyk Fedor Yukhymovych to the development and expansion of the Department of Processing and Food Production Equipment, significant achievements in the training of highly qualified specialists and scientific and pedagogical workers, personal achievements in scientific and technical activities and significant contribution to the development of education, the Department of “Processing and Food Production Equipment” was renamed the Department of “Processing and Food Production Equipment named after Professor F.Yu.Yalpachyk”
