Dual education is a form of education based on close cooperation between enterprises (organizations, institutions) that have the resources necessary for training, educational and industrial practice, other types of educational activities and educational institutions on the basis of social partnership between production and education, where both parties act as equal partners who jointly develop and coordinate the educational process and monitor its results.

The main task of the dual form of education is to eliminate the main shortcomings of traditional forms and methods of training future skilled workers, to bridge the gap between theory and practice, education and production, and to improve the quality of training qualified personnel, taking into account the requirements of employers within the framework of new organizationally distinctive forms of education.

The theoretical part of the specialist training takes place at an educational institution, and the practical part is carried out at the workplace. Students combine their studies with an internship at an enterprise. At the same time, companies place orders with educational institutions for a specific number of specialists in a particular specialty, and employers participate in the development of the curriculum. For their part, employers may have various forms of participation in the training of specialists: they pay for the training in full; purchase the necessary equipment; cover all expenses related to the process of their on-the-job training; pay monetary remuneration to students for the use of their labor.

Within the framework of dual education, agreements were signed between Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University and enterprises in Melitopol and Zaporizhzhia region. According to these agreements, the first students were sent for dual training.
