From 19th to 21st January 2021 in Kharkiv Sports Palace «Lokomotiv» was held the Ukrainian Championship in freestyle wrestling among men in memory of the honored coach of Ukraine, USSR Sports Master Leonid Dunay. The competition was attended by the best 200 wrestlers from 17 regions of the country. Also on these first competitions in 2021 conducted the selection for the European Championship and other licensed tournaments, where athletes will have a chance to compete for a ticket to the Olympics.
Very good news for our university was the fact that two students of TSATU had the honor to represent our university and the city of Melitopol in the free-style wrestling team of Zaporozhye region. They are the brightest stars of the Melitopol modern wrestling school, which for 20 years is headed by honored coach of Ukraine, USSR Master of Sports Altai Abdullaiev, a senior lecturer of Physical Education Department TSATU – Sport Master of Ukraine, students of Energy and Computer Technology Vyacheslav Kopot and Ruslan Dehtyarenko.
Vyacheslav Kopot entered the Ukrainian national team in freestyle wrestling up to 79 kg, and will be with other best wrestlers of the country will have several training camps to prepare for the European Championships, which will be held from 19 to 25 April in Poland.
