TUATU Sports Club “Tavria-University” carries out educational activities among students through the work of sports sections, sports events.
The basic sports sections in the last years are the following:
athletic gymnastics (athletics);
weightlifting;
volleyball;
basketball;
weight sport;
football;
Wrestling;
aerobics;
table tennis;
handball.
The main sporting events of the Tavria-University sports club of the Department of Physical Education and Sports are: conducting sports events among students and university staff and organizing the participation of athletes of the University in sports competitions of various levels.
At the city level, the university’s staff annually has the best both in city sports events and in the championship of the city. The first places were chosen in competitions for such sports: volleyball, football, free-fight, weight-lifting, powerlifting, basketball and a number of others.
Among the outstanding achievements of the University Sports Club, the following can be noted:
University team of volleyball “Tavria-Universitet” – the winner of the championship of Ukraine in the higher student league;
representatives of the student powerlifting team – the winners of the Cup of Ukraine among the students, prize-winners of the Cup of Ukraine, the championship of Ukraine, the European Championship;
representatives of the student team on weight sport – champions and prize-winners of the World Championship, the championship of Ukraine among juniors, prize-winners of many international competitions, winners of All-Ukrainian summer sports games, multiple winners of the championship of the region;
representatives of the team of the University of Free Fight – the winners of the European Championship, World Cup, Cup of Ukraine, winners and prizewinners of several international tournaments, Ukrainian championship among juniors.
