One of the most important tasks facing European higher education institutions, there is competition from other educational institutions at European level and around the world. In order to succeed, the institution must strive to improve the quality of its educational services and to enter the international arena.
Europe’s educational institutions are brought together for a collaborative and productive collaboration to share experiences and implement global projects. Such is ICA, founded in 1988 as Interfaculty Committee Agraria, is a network of more than 60 agrarian universities from the EU and neighboring countries (European Higher Education Area, EHEA).
Mission of ICA is to increase the success of its participants in the international market, in Europe and around the world, providing a conducive environment for sharing experiences, collaborating on new endeavors and benefiting from working together.
Currently, full membership is open to all higher education institutions in Europe with a focus on life sciences related to agriculture, food, forestry, natural resources, rural development and the environment in the 46 countries that have joined the Bologna Process. Associate membership is open to universities and outside the EHEA.
In 2006, the General Assembly of ІСА changed its name to Association for European Life Science Universities in the field of life sciences, under which the association is known today. This latest change reflects ambitions of ІСА as a modern association that covers all disciplines related to agriculture, forestry, food, natural resources, rural development and the environment. Thus, reflecting a long-standing shift in the scientific field of member institutions of ICA from classical agricultural and related sciences.
ICA – it is an open European network membership of which allows:
1. Investigate important factors in the field of agriculture;
2. Enjoy the best international coaches experience of ІСА, and share ideas with colleagues;
3. Learn how to apply best practices;
4. Get up-to-date knowledge and practical management skills in business;
5. Support in the field of promotion of projects, initiatives, conferences
6. Expands opportunities in the life sciences network to share experiences.
The International Department reports that Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University became a full member of ICA since October 2019.
