Since 2008, the tradition of “Living Chain of Unity” has been launched in Ukraine. This is a good opportunity to remind the Ukrainians of a significant date of Ukrainian statehood – January 22, 1919, when the unification of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic into one state took place. Symbolically, this day is the will and historic self-awareness of the community of the Ukrainian people.
On the occasion of the celebration, the whole of Ukraine has united in order to hold patriotic events dedicated to this event.
