Dual education is a form of education based on close cooperation between enterprises (organizations, institutions) that have the resources necessary for training, educational and industrial practice, other types of educational activities and educational institutions on the basis of social partnership between production and education, where both parties act as equal partners who jointly develop and coordinate the educational process and monitor its results.

Dual education helps to improve the level of practical training of students, forms and develops their core competencies, which in turn contributes to the efficiency of further professional activities, ensures a balance between the supply and demand of specialists in the labor market. Duality as a methodological characteristic of education implies a coordinated interaction of educational and industrial spheres for training specialists of a certain profile, built on the same basis, in other words, a combination of theoretical training in an institution and practical training at an enterprise (institution, organization).
