Every year on the 20th of September is celebrated the International University Sports Day. This holiday was founded by the UNESCO General Conference in 2015 on the initiative of the International University Sports Federation.
Library has prepared a video presentation “First among the best” dedicated to the sport victories and victories of TSATU students.
Today the sport club of TSATU “Tavria-University” includes a big sports building with 9 sport halls, where students have comfortable conditions for physical education and sport.
University sport students glorify their university. At the city, the university team is the best in both the city Games and the city Championships. In different years, the first places were won in competitions in such sports: volleyball, soccer, freestyle wrestling, powerlifting, basketball and many others.
At regional, national and international competitions students take first places. Melitopol freestyle wrestling team, which consists of students of our university and Melitopol college TSATU, took the first team place in the championship of the region in 2020, winning 6 gold awards, 2 “silver” and 2 “bronze”.
The pride of TSATU is Ruslan Dekhtyarenko – Master of Sports of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling, Denis Zadorozhnyi – winner of the prestigious Kiev International Tournament (2019) in armwrestling, Andrey Kolomoets became the first in the history of our city master of sports of Ukraine in trampoline jumping (acrobatic track), Alexander Nikulin – master of sports of Ukraine in floorball and many other athletes students.
In the video you can find literature from the library, these are the following editions: “Physical Education”, “115 famous athletes,” a textbook “Tactical actions in handball”, “Encyclopedia of Olympic sports”, etc.
The library congratulates all TSATU sportsmens on the International University Sports Day and wishes them new achievements and victories.
