In accordance with the curriculum of the specialty «Finance, banking and insurance» the 4th year students continued their internship during 5 weeks. The internship program – «activity on the market of financial services», was aimed at consolidating theoretical material and improving practical skills in the field of insurance and banking services.
Students were placed in subgroups: The first subgroup (11 students) concluded agreements with branches of insurance companies; the second subgroup (12 students) were referred to branches of banks located in Melitopol .
In the process of practical training the students had an opportunity to learn how insurers and bankers work in real conditions: How they communicate with clients; How they offer their services and work with «refusals»; what range of services they have and what their features are; how to conclude insurance, credit and deposit agreements correctly. Work with the archive allowed to acquaint with the packages of documents necessary for insurance and banking services.
The students who were trained at JSC CB «Privatbank» had the opportunity to pass online practice and get a certificate. Under the conditions of online internship, the trainees who completed the online task by 90 points and above were included in the personnel reserve of the bank. It should be noted that the students of the specialty «Finance, Banking and Insurance» of the Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University.represented the university at a high level compared to other educational institutions – 9 future financiers were included into the personnel reserve from 12 students. Victoria Gorpinich (21cFB) and Oleg Dmitrov (41 FB) received the maximum number of points – 100.
At the end of the internship, students made their reports by videoconference using the ZOOM platform. Each student, except the report on internship, prepared a presentation on the results of practical training.
In the process of completion of the internship «found that in general the level of theoretical training of students of specialty «finance, banking and insurance» is sufficient to implement specific practical tasks both in insurance and banking. But, there are also certain shortcomings. Thus, according to students, during the teaching of disciplines «insurance» and «banking», not enough explained the topic, free communication with customers. So, it was decided to include these topics in the working program of disciplines and invite professional psychologists or stakeholders to conduct master classes on these issues.
