Today, on The United Nations English Language Day (April 23) we announce
the winner of the contest of posters in English.
The event was established by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)
in 2010 seeking “to celebrate multilingualism
and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use
of all six of its official working languages
throughout the organization”.
April 23 was chosen as the date for the English language
because it is the anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birthday.
Today, we give our compliments to the contributors
and the winners of the poster contest devoted to the International music day.
Our participants have demonstrated their command of English,
sophisticated music taste as well as their creativeness and skillfulness in design.
This year, 5 posters have been represented on the webpages of the department of foreign languages.
We thank all the students and lecturers who have voted for the best placard
and shared our interest to the contestants’ music preferences, their creativeness and design skills.
We congratulate the winners of the Contest of Music Posters –
Dariia Akatova and Veronika Ivashchenko!
Their poster is devoted to the legendary rock-group Queen and displays the most recognizable photos of the band members.
We also thank our enthusiastic participants:
Vodyanitskyi Ivan
