Щорічно кафедра проводить конкурс есе іноземними мовами, метою якого є підвищення інтересу до поглибленого вивчення іноземної мови та культури іншомовних країн; розвиток навичок представлення власного світогляду у форматі есе, твору-роздуму, письмового твору критичного та аналітичного характеру; розвиток критичного мислення, творчих здібностей, сприйняття світогляду представників світової культури та науки. Щорічно кращі студенти у секціях запрошуються до викладення на письмі свого бачення теми, якою є цитата відомої особистості – візіонера, гуманіста або митця. Цього року, зважаючи на велику завантаженість і координаторів, і здобувачів освіти було прийняте непросте рішення провести творче змагання лише для найбільш чисельної секції – англомовної.
Серед конкурсантів цього року були і досвідчені учасники, і дебютанти. Завдяки комплексності обраній цього року у якості теми цитаті відомого художника – автора графічних романів Чарльза М. Шульца усі представлені на розсуд жюрі роботи є оригінальними творами, з глибоким філософським змістом та проникливим посилом. Тонкий гумор автора коміксів дозволив учасникам вільно міркувати над проблемою повсякденного вибору і складністю життя в цілому. Високий рівень володіння англійською мовою і особливе авторське бачення стали предметом роздумів щодо кандидатури переможця для членів жюрі.

Pick your chess figure
It goes without saying that our life depends only on ourselves. No matter you said to someone yes or no, or moved in the wrong place, can you imagine that in one day someone will give you a possibility to change the worst day in your life or maybe to feel the best feelings in your life one more time?
First of all, let’s say you still managed to do it, but you never can change yourself and your mood for life .Our life is so more complex than a “test”, than an essay, it’s more like a project or a movie. We are writing our life, not even in one day, step-by-step and year-by-year not noticing it but you grind your own story. There are those who argue that our life depends on such factors as: what family you were born in or you “must” have a talent to do something. Personally speaking, in my life I have seen a lot of undervalued people and the most important thing is that these people made their way through not very good words in their direction, as if “absorbing” what the “critics” told them and so how unsurprisingly they achieved great success in their hobby or business.
On the other hand, before you do something desperate in your life for the sake of the purpose to which you dedicated your life, you should still weigh all the pros and cons – for this reason life is not a test and you can’t solve it with some kind of complex example as it is done in mathematics. It is impossible, this is more a creative approach and thinking over each move. I would even compare life not with an essay but with a game of chess that lasts until the rest of the centuries. And when we are born in this game we are pawns initially, but over time we choose the path – to be “a king”, ‘a knight’ or whatever.
In conclusion, I want to say that chess – it’s a game that have a million of choices, so your mission it’s not to pick the wrong way and leave the game as a winner, even if the game was initially considered lost. Live your life and never, under any circumstances, let anyone make their own corrections in your essay.
