On March 23, 2023, on the basis of the Faculty of Foreign Philology of Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University, the results were summarized and the winners of the VII International Student Translation Competition “Translation as a means of actualizing ethnolinguistic pictures of the world” as part of the linguistic and cultural project “Intercultural communication and translation studies: points of contact” and development prospects” were determined (organizer: Department of Applied Linguistics, Comparative Linguistics and Translation).
61 students from 18 higher education institutions of Ukraine, Great Britain and Lithuania took part in the competition, among them were 5 students of Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University (students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the specialty “Geodesy and Land Management”, student of the 4th year of the specialty “Management” (supervisor – senior lecturer of the “Foreign Languages” department Victoria LEMESCHENKO-LAGODA), student of the 3rd year of the specialty “Hotel and Restaurant Business”) (supervisor – senior lecturer of the “Foreign Languages” department Iryna KRYVONOS)).
In the nomination for the translation of an English-language song into Ukrainian, Polina Chernyshova, a 3rd-year student of the “Geodesy and Land Management” specialty, won (III place), whose translation of the work was published in the collection of winners (scientific supervisor – senior lecturer of the “Foreign Languages” department, Victoria LEMESCHENKO-LAGODA).
